Which models? Afaik you can adjust fan speed on most, probably all, laptops by directly changing the embedded controller values.

Replacing the main desktop, huh? That processor sure has the potential. A few modifications to the cooling system and some undervolting can get it running at 30+ Watt TDP indefinitely.

Which sometimes makes me wonder, why pay for insurance at all? Sure sounds like a racket, "pay us and you may get into medical debt, don't pay us and we'll make sure that you do"

It seems to me that's an achievable goal... if everyone throws risk aversion/mitigation out of the window. No rules about nuclear power on ships, no worrying about contamination on other planets, laissez-faire attitude about risks

Tying immigration to productivity loss ? I thought immigration leads to an increase in productivity (but also wage stagnation). Why did other EU countries not suffer the same around 2004? Germany's looks like it skyrocketed. Same with

Why in the world does Germany not have a decent VC/investment industry? Seems like some companies and people are loaded with cash but they'd rather keep it in a bank than risk it on a new startup. You're not going to get many

I used one at Real, think I bought like 30 Euros worth of stuff. They did look at it for a bit, but accepted it without complaint. Amazing compared to a 50 pound note in England :D

I'd like to see the real prototype myself: those connectors on top of a PCB seem too thick to fit into an EC slot - but there have been SSDs made in that form factor. Edit: nevermind, he found a thinner connector. I should've read

It works pretty well if you replace "human" with "the owners". Which is how any AI is/will be used, at least at first. A few people controlling most of them. Sort of like Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. Millions of p

This is not surprising at all. Population has exploded, immigration is easier than ever before (since the Industrial Revolution), desirable places have become even more desirable, plus real estate is used as investment. Under such condition

Old phones make for rather good CCTV/surveillance cameras. Anything made in the past 4-6 years will have great picture quality (during the day, mostly), Internet connectivity, alarm features, motion sensing, even object recognition.
