https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAT64 There's some other tools to facilitate that. FWIW, I tried playing with IPv6 on my home LAN. all IPv6 intranet, IPv4 on the ISP WAN, all ran fine on OpenWRT routers with a bit o

Not for Xiaomi specifically, but I remember allowing some apps all the permissions they needed... then blocking some of them from settings somewhere, and they worked fine (for my needs). Haven't had the need to do that in the past coup

It's extremely convenient. I can't stress this enough. I remember navigating some cities in the country I grew up in with paper maps, hand drawn directions and lots of asking other people. It was more frustrating than it was f

Presumably, a lot more. From the story, it seems his health condition was the main cause for the "downfall" and barely getting by. Sad, and not uncommon.

Seriously, a cheap flintlock pistol/rifle replica (which you can easily buy and modify to actually work) would be safer for the user than that thing.

That's... actually impressive. I've built a point to point WiFi link before, with 802.11g. I was under the impression 60GHz is for extremely short range applications, like wireless connectivity in a living room and such. Really su

Just use old phones from eBay :). More like 50 Euros, but still rather cheap and powerful enough for any IoT use. Reminds me of that guy who used an iPad for a wall mounted information panel (weather, transport time, traffic conditions, som

Don't need R&D or custom parts if you use existing designs and existing part lines from China. This is the same design used by many Xiaomi phones and lots of clones/rebrands. Someone mentioned even Siemens has one.

To be fair, this particular design seems to be one of those common Chinese ones used by any company who wants to make a phone. It's really easy to assemble, hard to disassemble. It's been used in countless Xiaomi phones, lesser kn

Quite likely better subjectively, just like today's poor villagers in remote areas seem pretty happy. Objectively, it's a tough, limited life imo.

Yeah it's one of those space missions (there were several of them) that I look at and am amazed every time. Like the Curiosity landing - how awesome was that?

The newer projectors are quite impressive. You won't get good color accuracy during the day, but it can still be good enough for almost anything else. The image projected is surprisingly sharp. I reckon if you work in the evenings and

Seems to me like working out you just naturally need more calories. So it's the same thing - you use more calories than you eat. Like how Michael Phelps are something ridiculous like 10,000 calories a day while training.

Have you considered a 4k short throw projector? The screen would be an issue, but you could get a foldable one, buy one on the spot or just use a white wall

Hell of a setup! I settled on 4x 17" laptops, much easier to carry and you get extra storage and bonus processing power. Wasn't my plan, really, but I can't sell old laptops (too cheap, no one wants them anyway, plus I always

I've recommended this before - you don't need a special/low power processor for that! Technically, any processor with a hardware video decoder will work fine as long as you limit the TDP to something your cooling can manage.

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to drive them at full speed. Zen cores (even at that TDP) plus the standard Ethernet hardware offloading should be able to handle that and a lot of extra processing without trouble.

To be fair, it's very democratic (is it the most ?), not very free. Living there you have to put up with all sorts of restrictions that may seem overzealous for someone from, say, Eastern Europe. And they have the same ridiculous bure
