My devices just sit on a desk lol. I have two laptops working as servers in another room. But if you wanted to be safer from a potential fire, a metal cabinet is the simplest way to do it. A deflagration from a lithium battery would just he

Yeah, it is certainly possible that it affects health. However, since we decided to live with such technology as a society, we'll have to deal with it. People living in cities (or anywhere really) don't complain much about the

I would certainly hope that an AI would be void of emotions, which I consider to be a relic of our primitive past. Well, it's not really a relic since it's actually the driving force behind our daily lives and society as a whole,

Or instead of storing memories, electric fields are used for fast transfers between parts of the brain. An MRI scan could affect it depending on the frequency? Perhaps a minor, temporary, drop in cognition/memory recall? You would ha

Couldn't it be that the brain has an extremely good redundancy setup? Memories stored in several parts of the brain, and recoverable if a part gets damaged? There are many people who did have permanent memory loss from various TBI (tra

I hate Russia right now, but geofencing is just... bad. I've been geofenced and blocked my whole life, being from a small country no one gives a shit about. If not for the Internet, I'd likely be way more influenced by general med

That's kinda against the spirit of the Internet, well, what it should be IMO. But I do also ban, only temporarily. I found that a lot of IPs just stop reappearing/retrying, likely because they blacklist my IP and move on.

I don't anymore, because I understood I can't affect other people, so I must not care. However it is my opinion that people should learn and know more. Not everything , just more than they already do.

I guess what I'm saying is you can't compare what "China" is doing to most western countries, which have a fraction of the population, so of course there will be fewer reactors, fewer roads, less housing, less production

I said "should" and I meant it. You don't have to, no one has to. People can use locked down hardware and be at the mercy of the manufacturers and support services. There's a lot more money in that than everyone fixing t

I wonder if it could use the "no downgrade" flag (used on the vast majority of laptops) to block you from reflashing it. That would be hilarious.

This should be common knowledge among everyone using a computer. It just makes sense to know how your device operates, and it's not hard to learn. Having been the go to guy for fixing anything remotely computer related, I got sick of i

As someone who doesn't care about the markets, I see sudden/sharp price increases for food, fuel, gas, wood, metals, paint, and a few other things. A real mess.
