I agree on all points except this one: > Don’t assume you’ll make this much money forever. There is a 90% chance that your salary will increase by 10% per year, on average, during your career. On average means that sometimes your company

The system bring talked about here can deliver 250kW during 11 seconds max. That is LESS than 1 kWh of energy storage. I hope it's not the one on the picture otherwise their cost estimates are way off and two orders of magnitude larger

Indeed, that and sql syntax errors are solved by using an orm or sql code generator like sql alchemy core.

It's quite simple really: 1. Big hedge fund bet against GameStop stock (shorted up to 140% of the stock, it's called naked short and everybody thought it was illegal since 2008 but that's another story) 2. Lot of small-to-med

> But a single nuclear power plant has the potential for continent-wide devastation. This is not true. The space destroyed to make way for coal strip-mining in Germany alone, is larger than Tchernobyl exclusion zone.

Well, I cannot undo years of pervasive anti-nuke sentiment in a small hacker news comment. I was like you before, it's the "default" sentiment to feel like nuclear power is dangerous and dirty. Please do your homework and col

Nuclear power is not that dangerous on a large scale compared to coal power. Or burning any fossil fuel for that matter.

This article is misleading. You can NOT replace nuclear with wind and solar. Because you can't choose when the sun shines and when the wind blows. Hydro in France is already built-up everywhere it was feasible. There are no more spots

Because the nuclear reaction is not dependant on the wind blowing to produce energy. It's not 100% because you need to do maintenance at times.
