Oof, I would be livid if that happened to me, too. Maybe I just threaded the needle and got lucky or something, but I'm disappointed to hear mine isn't a universal experience.

Funnily enough that's the one feature that works pretty well for me and is keeping me on Apple Music as opposed to Spotify. Considering the state of every recently made/"remade" first party Apple app I cannot imagine how

Cities benefit from people being in office and thus, in the city spending money. In 2024, SF had a new business tax plan to incentivize employers to bring people back to the office, and I wouldn't be surprised if other cities did simil

From some light testing, the results here are pretty lackluster. I've used videosummarizerai.com in the past via ChatGPT and the ability to specify the format of the information you're looking for is a huge plus. Here's the s

I love seeing old hardware kept alive by community effort like this. Would love to see similar for the Sidekick, although I know hardware limitations will make that much less likely to materialize anything meaningful. I just want to flip it

I try not to be one of those people who resist any/all change just because it's change, but the gradient on the progress bar bothers me so much.

I disagree. We pretty explicitly ask candidates to not use AI. While it's fine when doing the job the purpose of the interview is to gauge your ability to understand and solve problems, while AI can help you with that you understanding

I think a lot of this comes down to AI. In a recent hiring round we experienced multiple candidates using AI tooling to assist them in the technical interviews (remote only company). I expect relationship hires to become more common over th

If anything the non Developer Editions of Firefox disabling the ability to load an extension locally (without resetting it every time the browser starts) closes one path to preventing auto-updating of extensions.

This is very, very unimportant - but the build in your demo video on the site has a typo in the application name, "Selectirc" instead of "Selectric" (seen in the menu bar)

I’m glad you found it useful! It was a really fun project to build and I was always surprised at how many users it attracted.

Especially because if I had monetized it, it likely would have been a subscription model because that would obviously be the only way to cover the continued operating costs, and users have such an aversion to any subscription.

I think they used to have a rule about this but then their own apps started to violate it, so they loosened restrictions. What I'd really love to see is notification categories so you can choose which to accept.
