I'm having a hard time imagining a compelling case that the lobbyists could present though. Are most of these representatives just willfully corrupt? I hate to vilify people unduly but it is becoming hard to understand the thought pr

Is there a good reason why a representative would vote in favor of this?

I'll never fly United again. I had a similar experience for 14 hours. It isn't just the in flight entertainment. In my experience their staff are rude and borderline incompetent. There must be a poor culture in the company as

I agree. I think that a lot of it lies in the fact that it is hard for a lot of people to understand how digital surveillance works and they feel powerless to change it anyway. So they dismiss it away by not caring. Just my best guess on

Unfortunately I have found that most people aren't shocked when I explain this to them. Most commonly they just say That their life is boring and they've got nothing to hide. Additionally they think that it may be worth the inva

I run a timeout function that checks for delays in execution and I cross reference this with what is running at the time and move that to a web worker. In my cause this ends up being when I do heavy lifting like merging lots of Float32Arra

I should add that someone from the AWS team reached out to me in response to this comment asking for feedback on how they can improve their usability. So I give them credit for that.

Not being able to legally fire an employee that isn't working out can put a lethal amount of stress on a new company. New Zealand can do whatever they like but this can deter new businesses from operating there. Which is fine but is

I certainly believe in giving people multiple chances but I'm not interested in involving the gov't in these sorts of decisions. Guess I'm uncivilized.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain. I'm in the process of making decisions on a new cloud storage provider so this is helpful.

Specifically what I understood about NZ labor law is that you can't easily fire someone that isn't working out for whatever reason. You have to have a history of documentation and written warnings to validate the cause. While th

I was speaking from the perspective of a bootstrapped startup founder. As I understood it, it can be quite hard to legally fire someone. This could easily be the end of an early stage company. Take my advice on this with a grain of salt

I'm in the process of moving to GCS mostly based on how byzantine the AWS setup is. All kinds of crazy unintuitive configurations and permissions. In short, AWS makes me feel stupid.
