I'm running a SaaS built on the back of the Web Audio + WebRTC apis. While it isn't perfect at all, it is still pretty impressive what progress has been made in the last few years allowing you to do all kinds of audio synthesis a

Infinite. I did contract work part-time while I worked on the business. This was a blessing and a curse. It made sure that I didn't fail due to lack of money but also probably made things take longer than they should have.

Bitcoins inherent value is utility. It facilitates things that were difficult or impossible before it existed. It allows you to transact online without middleman businesses. It allows quick, easy, and cheap international transactions. I

I found it interesting to see that building floors in Australia are zero indexed. The first floor there is what Americans would call the second. Not sure why they chose to do it that way but it works fine in the real world.

Why would you believe that aside from taking DARE classes? There is so much FUD in the drug space that it clouds proper judgement.

For me it happens in the shower, the moments just before I fall asleep, or upon waking from a nap. I can't count the number of times I wasted hours up late at night trying to force a solution only to give up and have the solution come

Can someone ELI5 as to how this gathers the spatial data for the samples? In my ignorance, it doesn't seem clear to me as to how this works. I get that you would be gathering different volume data with each dip but it seems to me tha

This can be pretty annoying for users and developers though. If the user forgets what account they last used and selects a different one next time then it ends up creating an entirely new account unassociated with the first. If I ever do

Interesting. I wish I could browse the available skill sets before filling out the extensive form. For instance, I'm in need of a webRTC specialist. Preferably with experience using simple-peer.js. Is there a way to tell if you hav

I'd have to agree with Josh. Sigma looks pretty cool because it would save me from having to write some custom query scripts that I have to do now. However it doesn't appear to be competition for the Baremetrics dashboard as far

It is certainly possible. I started charging last November and am just passing this threshold without spending any money on marketing at all. This might not work in all cases though. I have a bit of an advantage in that my users are podc

Not necessarily a bad idea. This will give you a better appreciation for why you would want to use the established paradigms taught in CS courses.

Perhaps this isn't on the same scale as the internet in the nineties but there are needs being met with this tech. I pay contractors in bitcoin. It saves on transaction fees and is really easy to do. It is especially useful for inte

I think that this point of view ignores the fact that a big under acknowledged purpose for public school is daycare. The school day needs to be long enough to give the parents time to go to work. Not sure what the solution is here but I do

I would actually be quite scared to bicycle in NZ. Especially in the rural areas. The roads are often narrow and winding without shoulders to speak of.

If it truly is entirely unavoidable, then I suppose one way to adapt is to democratize access to these tools and data. The power to abuse is too great if it is concentrated in a small number of hands. Still this seems scary to me. The one

I was more meaning to buy myself some time from the physical real-world tracking. We have no way of knowing what the NSA is actually storing on citizens. I have to assume it is everything and that doesn't seem outlandish in light of

Frankly, I'm very terrified at the prospect of being tracked in my every move and it seems entirely unavoidable. License plate scanners are already in wide deployment. There was an article on HN last week about the FBI's 100 mil

Our privacy is under attack on all fronts by our own government. It seems hard to imagine a feasible way to defend against this. Even well thought out legislation will likely just be ignored with impunity. Is privacy of any sort a lost c
