The US has been the largest arms exporter for as long as I can remember. For much of this time selling directly or indirectly to some very bad people. So, I find it particularly interesting that this somehow has become a partisan election i

One can reasonably conclude that neither is suitable for the office. Which is why I find the squabbling over the candidates so interesting. They are both _deplorable_.

I believe nearly every country has selective immigration programs, this is nothing new nor controversial.

I'm surprised that more Americans don't spoil their ballot. Imagine if 20% of the ballots cast were spoiled. That would certainly wake up the media & politicians to the problems inherent in this 2 party system.

As far as I can tell the amp-img tag doesn't add anything that img doesn't already support. The page simply mentions some vague statement about needing to understand the page layout, but uses the same attributes as img.

As an outsider observing the US election the statement of yours "Don't vote for candidates next month receiving large donations from Google" strikes me as ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, your logic is correct. But, in or

I've enjoyed reading the well thought out arguments on this page. So, where is a better political forum? I've tired of reddit as the noise/signal ratio has grown intolerable.

I find it interesting that you went to "banning speech". I don't equate anything the parent said with wanting to ban speech. Further I thought the comparison to Hitler was thought provoking as many German intellectuals looked

I like your novel approach to the problem of being forced to choose between 2 candidates that are both inappropriate (for very different reasons) for the role.

Immigration can be very selective. Eg. Meeting minimum education standards, having certain amounts of cash on hand, or targeting those that will start a business. research on this suggests immigration policies tend to create jobs.

I have to admit as much as I dislike Trump pg raises a valid point. Another analogy would be YC disavowing Thiel for being gay. An employer has no business in their employees sexual lives or politic preferences.

I understand that sentiment, yet am shocked that people put aside all of Trump's faults. The real issue that I wish American's focused on was their weak democracy. Why accept a two party system fuelled by private money?

Good points. But what specific policy or changes occur under a Trump presidency? This past spring a 500% tariff was placed on Chinese steel. So, I have a hard time understanding what he's going to do different. That is my complaint wit

If you read the Wikipedia link above the law was written by the lobbyists. It's up to the elected officials to take the time to write their own bill or they may simply work from the lobbyists draft.
