Tried with all my might and no dice: https://gist.github.com/joshmn/c87a52b5328aa4f452be7970af4ba... Now, are _you_ serving from Cloudflare and you're seeing this in production? Or is this coming from the output?

I wasn’t able to reproduce. The error pages do return the code, though, but I was expecting that. I’m hoping that OP can provide a request that does reproduce it.

If CF is acting as a reverse proxy as it so often does — it's one of their core features — it's not exactly willynilly.

My guess as to what is happening: 1. Toptal uses Cloudflare for DNS 2. Toptal uses Cloudflare Insights, which automagically inserts the tracking snippet of ` https://static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js/\\ *` 3. Y

Does this handle residential or LTE proxies? Obviously harder to identify, but it's not unfeasible.

The situation you describe is the one I'm curious to avoid. My old man was sort of "bah humbug" about it all. He wasn't necessarily "surprised" that my mom would do such a thing, but still "surprised"

I learned that my dad isn't my father. He didn't even know he wasn't my father. My mom passed away a few years ago and took this secret to the grave with her. I took an Ancestry.com DNA to try to answer the question of: "

When you come back around to missing client work, remember that some guy on HN begged you to raise your rate. Doesn't matter where you are located. value == value; value != location.

Ten-some years ago I started at $100/hour and I thought that was a good idea. "Great, I'll make $200k a year and pay 45% in taxes, that's fine, I can live on that." I thought that being attractive to more people was

I'm still baffled that I get better service in the middle of a lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness than on the shore. I tried T-Mobile for service, I tried Verizon, and I tried AT&T, and for whatever reason, I could r

I recently (few days ago) had to do 2. None of my gems are super popular but I have enough that there are some serious production workloads behind. It felt scrutinized enough. I can imagine if I had more popular libraries that it would have

So many familiar faces in this thread. :) With Ruby::Concurrent, I found similar weird-isms until I wrapped in `Rails.application.executor`. Rails has its quirks and purists can be put off by all the "extra work" that needs to hap

Whenever this subject comes up, people seem to forget how poorly Ruby plays with Windows. WSL helps a lot and gives you a practical experience, but it'll never be a first-class citizen on Windows like Python is.

I love this article. I’m a firm believer in the strengths of well-written code, even in the age of “move fast and break things.” One of the points this touches on is idiomatic code. In front-end development, there are lots of resources for

I do. I’m trying to transition out of development and into management. The last thing I want to do is leave behind the place I’ve called home for the last 10 years, abandoning all the headaches from the language’s subtleties in the process.
