I have found that inertia.js is a great solution, it basically allows you to program in your traditional back end multi-page application, MVC kind of style, but with all the benefits of an SPA. So, you get to skip writing an API and just pa

Oh yes I get that, but wasn't sure if there was some kind of better support for AOT compilation in the CLR which could do Clojure startup at build time or something.

Does anyone use Clojure CLR? How is the startup time for that?

But just about nobody uses it right? Probably a reason for that.

Laravel with Inertia.js seems like a really great solution to get 95% of the productivity of a MPA and 95% of the benefits of a SPA.

Laravel still seems a lot more fleshed out on the back end. Job queues, task scheduling, notifications, migrations, email. Seems to be a lot more of a cohesive package, everything working together.

Housing, healthcare and policing being provincial responsibility is an oversimplification. Provinces are basically compelled to comply with the federal Canada Health Act under threat of being taxed for, but not receiving the huge Canada Hea

It's more complicated than that. Technically healthcare is a provincial responsibility in the constitution but the feds bought their way into healthcare and regulate it through the Canada Health Act. The Feds cannot legally compel prov

Usually what happens when a party is not in power is that the leader will resign and an interim leader will be appointed until a new leader is elected through a leadership election. When a party is in power however, that interim leader woul

Yes, many return by choice, but until the last few months, it was basically guaranteed that if you get into university or a college here and graduate, you'll definitely get a work visa, and you'll definitely be able to get a PR, a

This isn't true. There are about 1 million international students in Canada and they aren't cherry picked. Basically anyone who gets into any of the strip mall colleges in Ontario gets in, and many of them are basically just diplo

Given how much front end has evolved over the last 15 years, is it really the case still these days that you should do SSR for SEO? That would be a strong indictment of Google and other search engines if they still so many years later are n

Well, buying stock in a company because you like their product is precisely the kind of bad stock picking strategy I'm talking about. The quality of a company's product is public information, so you should expect it to be priced i

Is switching to SQLite really making hosting your web apps less of a headache? Most hosting providers make spinning up your standard client-server RDBMSs (MySQL, Postgres) a breeze.

This analogy fails because there's nothing about our economy that specifically demands that people drive cars that can drive over 150km/h. They would be able to commute exactly the same as they do today, if their cars had speed go

I don't know, but many people are caught driving in excess of 200km/h where I live in BC, when the maximum speed limit anywhere is 110km/h. There's literally never ever one single reason to drive over 150km/h, so an
