Same, I really want to use sprites (for me and my whole team) but every time I try to set up, I run into weird issues. Last time I got in some state where trying to launch Claude froze the whole VM every time.

I don't know why, but my ultra wide monitor absolutely hates that site. The whole screen is flickering trying to deal with the annoying background. Thank the gods for reader mode.

cloc says ours is ~350k LoC and agents are able to implement whole features from well designed requirement docs. But we've been investing in making our code more AI friendly, and things like Devin creating and using DeepWiki helps a lo

Damn. I just got an email that they'll be discontinuing the palm payment June 3. I've barely used Fresh and Go, but I use this at self checkout at Whole Foods all the time. Beats finding the code to scan and using Apple Pay. >

Same, it's so good for these little things. And once you start adding rules and context for the "how to add the change/feature flags", etc you get that 3 paragraphs down. Now our head of product is able to fire off small

Overall I've been really impressed with Devin. IMO it's the best tool for AI generating features if you know what you're looking for, have patterns to follow, etc. I suspect the context they build about your project helps a t

I love this bracket. The first startup I worked (Triggr Health) at was in Chicago and we started a bracket for best wings. Sadly we never finished!

I'm not familiar with Georgism, but employers and rent extractors (e.g. the majority stock owners) seem to be one and the same pretty often, at least in the US.

Because employers don't tend to make choices about the "interests of the working class", they make choices about what benefits them specifically in the moment or near future. You need to get some sort of alignment on their in

I generally agree. But with the current administration firing the former BLS chief (possibly due to bad numbers being reported) and changing economic reporting (e.g. PPI and GDP estimates), I'm not sure I trust the government data to n

This is pretty amazing to watch! I did just watch a dot go through the Great Lakes, to Chicago, then take to the air and make a bee line straight to the Gulf of Mexico. Probably some weird artifact but made me chuckle.

I think the odds are better if it's not a random guy who also already has a bunch of power (e.g. Bezos with his considerable influence buying up and weaponizing WaPo). I personally think that consolidation of power is a reasonable thin

I've been a big fan of monorepos for awhile, but like the author, not a huge fan of using e.g. yarn workspaces. React Native can get pretty pissy with hoisting. I just started putting things like implementation plans and PRDs in the re

Blacksmith.sh has been great for us. Massively sped up tests and a huge improvement for Docker builds over both Actions and Google Cloud Build. Only downside is they never got back to us about their startup discount.

Now that I think about it, I think our admin system for the DHCP server was how we handled it instead of VLANs. Also helped with automated installation of Windows on desktops, bootstrapping servers, etc.

It's great in theory, it's just relatively expensive. You'll need to pay to be running on all the clouds plus keeping extra traffic to keep databases synced. Distributed systems are hard.
