Maybe I'm missing something, but how is one supposed to use this? I see a command to run a server but is there a maybe a short tutorial on how its supposed to be used by engineers in their day-to-day?

I recently upgraded a Macbook Pro 2012 13" to High Sierra. Works quite well (already had 16GB of ram) and even recently got a security update late last year. I avoided newer OSs as there were complaints about UI performance and stutter

Dokku Maintainer here: Dokku Pro[1] has team-based management (and user-specific password auth is coming soon). This might fit your needs around user/team management. Having never used yunohost, from the docs it seems more aimed toward

Whats phenomenal about this so far is that the email does not indicate: - what actually will happen to teams that don't become paid - what will get deleted on which timeline - whether others will be able to typosquat the

Nah Dokku really is mostly a labor of love. Originally I started working on it to provide a Heroku alternative for a group of students that couldn't afford what they needed to on Heroku (this was like... in 2014) and I've since be

This one is interesting because Vault has an enterprise product which I assume (hope?) Fly is paying for. That enterprise version includes performance replicas, which allows for cross-region replication of secrets with region-local reads (a

We support 4 different ones to give folks choice. Some folks want/need features that aren't available on one vs the other (traefik has a ton of features, caddy is simple to configure, nginx has a ton of documentation) so it made s

Dokku maintainer here. Dokku doesn't have an _official open source_ UI. There are a few unofficial OSS ones (Ledokku is the latest) that I'm aware of. There is have a commercial offering in Dokku Pro ( https://pro.dokku.

Dokku Maintainer here. I don't really have a business model. I do take donations from Open Collective (and Github Sponsors, which funnels to OC) and there is Dokku Pro, but those don't collect anywhere near the funds I'd need

Dokku allows for deploying apps from images built in CI - which is quite effective if you also test your image artifacts in CI and don't want to build twice. If you are using our Nomad or Kubernetes plugins, you can also run the apps o

Maintainer of Dokku here. Dokku does support both Kubernetes and Nomad as deployment targets, so it's not strictly single-server (though app builds currently are).

Yeah that makes sense. I really liked Triton from Joyent, as it provided a neat host os that could essentially be looked at as a multi-host docker installation but didn't run much else. You could then run the Dokku docker image on top

Dokku mostly uses existing "unix" tools or golang binaries, so it should in theory work (buildpacks are another matter, as they are mostly written for Linux, but a Dockerfile-based build should work). The big issue is actually int

It doesn't, mostly because it's a fairly large area to have opinions about, and not everyone agrees on what is required (in fact, I know of at least two orgs using Dokku that would definitely not agree on each others requirements)

Thats a bit more difficult. I don't think there is a great way for cron jobs other than triggering them and reverting if there are errors, though I haven't seen a single deployment tool that would do this. For batch processing, Do

Dokku is in use in production by a large number of companies. Those companies might setup Dokku on a single, large host - perhaps collocated somewhere - and not want to have downtime for their product(s). Others host a swarm of Dokku instal

Not knowing anything about the engineer in question, no two people's experience over a given period of time is equivalent. Additionally, levels differ wildly at different organizations.
