Ah, this makes sense (assuming this is what they're saying). So there would be one sketch file for the basic components that is generated from the React code, but the designers who design specific pages of the site (for example) would

So... basically this entire system is really just a way to render React components in the Sketch App? And any changes to the design cannot be made in the sketch app, but instead must be made in React code? (So Sketch is just a "read-on

Sounds intriguing, but I'm also a little confused about the flow of "code that generates sketch files"... what is the purpose of Sketch in all this? I would think programs like Sketch are useful in general because they give d

So many comments in this thread are comparing working at the office vs. working from home -- but there is a 3rd option, which is to rent your own office! I do this, it's not very expensive (a few hundred dollars a month -- if I get 2 e

Kudos to the creators for getting the CMS field definitions right by allowing arbitrary amounts and types of fields! It's so annoying to me that so many CMS's and static site generators start out with the assumption of 1 big rich

You can still use tables and CSS display:table (you should use the latter if the content is not actually tabular data so as not to make life annoying for people using screen readers). But for those of us building sites with complex layouts

If that works for you and your designs, then great! But there are a lot of places where display:table falls apart, especially with responsive designs. Flexbox and Grid also bring a new level of ability to separate source order from display

Noticed a factual error: You say that Vue.js "demand[s] the latest javascript spec for development and all its advantages." -- this is not true, all vue.js demands is ES5.1 (IE9+). It can take advantage of ES6 and modern tooling

It was a while ago (2011), and it was specifically with streaming videos using the RTMP protocol... so it might have been specific to that. But here is a StackOverflow answer someone wrote that explained the general idea of how CDN's m

How does banning same-sex marriage adversely impact the rate of birth amongst heterosexuals? And if banning marriages that can't result in babies were a way to increase birthrate, then why are heterosexual people who cannot have babies

I'm basing my assumption solely on the numbers... the vast majority of programmers are male, which can only mean either men are "better" at the job, or that some other factor is causing it. Since I don't believe men are

You might be into Lektor ( https://www.getlektor.com/ ), which is a great middle ground between static site and dynamic CMS -- it's a static site generator, but has a GUI client that is somewhat usable for non-technica

A few years ago, I used CloudFront as a CDN for video files hosted on S3, and I ran into performance issues -- I think because the traffic was relatively low, and hence it took more time for the CDN to "reload its cache" (for lack

As a developer, it seems pretty clear to me that there is implicit bias going on in our industry. I don't know how or why, but I don't believe that men are inherently better than women at the skills it takes to succeed, so I'

Cool. What if it turned out that in some places there is proof that what's going on is "promote X, because he is a man"... would you then fight against that with all your being?

What if we start from an assumption though that things are currently not meritocrous? Doesn't that then imply if we want to get to a place of full meritocracy some things need to be done that are different than the status quo?

It certainly would... as long as you're hosting the comment backend somewhere -- which might defeat the purpose of going with a static site generator in the first place (if your purpose was to only host static files).

Javascript fatigue aside, this suffers the same annoying (to me) limitation that a lot of static site generators and CMS's do: it presumes that there will only be 1 main content area per page that you populate with a big chunk of markd

It's not an ORM, more like an alternate way to write queries that's kind of embedded in the language itself (as opposed to SQL where you're putting together a string). If you're familiar with the Rails world, I'd sa
