Yeah, it's important to remember that the US has friends. - and the list of friends is very long! My favorite example of how good friends the US has is that the primary objective for Norway in Afghanistan was quote: "The fi

We could require that ships they dock in EU harbours are owned by countries that are party to some international anti-ship breaking agreement. But it's a lot of paperwork :)

Well, also one can debunk these claims by just looking at the money. If oil inputs were so massive, the cost of a turbine (or by implication the electricity it generates) should be MUCH higher. Just guessing, but probably orders of magnitud

While I really like the idea of enabling 3d printers to do more/better through software. I'll admit that lower complexity might be better. When prototyping maybe it's better to tweak parts a bit for better 3d printing. And re

You could also argue that there was population growth, and we might not see that in future. So under-building in the future will be harder, as houses exist. Of course, it's hard to know how population growth will work out in the future

I played a bit with 1.0.0, it crashed a bit here and there... But it was fairly simple to use. Granted, I've mostly been using tinkercad so far :)

You can argue that if it was Russia, western countries might want to ignore it, because otherwise they'd have to do something. Much easier to respond by supporting Ukraine. For a NATO ally to do it would be extremely risky -- what if t

Also, why would you risk a kinetic response, when it's so far proven perfectly safe to donate equipment to Ukraine?

Nobody forces you to put ads on anything. The idea that every website or tool with lots of visitors should be monetized is sad. Original author made a tool, why do you have to make money on it? Perhaps it sad that websites without ads aren&

When you can pay with card at the pump, the only remaining users for "pay inside" are thieves and the occasional cash-only customer. Also no surprise they don't want you to pay cash, that means dealing with cash which is expe

Yeah, I was shocked how many gas station are manned. In Denmark they are almost all unmanned, and if manned you still pay at the pump with a credit/debit card. The manned gas stations are for serving hotdogs :)

Honestly, the author should read the docs. There are probably settings for this stuff. It's quite normal for static sites to do something weird here. Like having folders that all contain index.html, and then having settings to strip (o

Buying a burner phone would certainly make the $40 swatting service a lot less profitable. Having to be geographically present in the same city, might increase the risk and cost a LOT.

My point was that writing an openapi, or other IDL is faster than writing the code to manually do these things. And more accurate than LLMs. Feels like whenever an LLMs could code it, you'd be better of not having the boilerplate code

Do truck drivers count the hours they spend waiting to be loaded or unloaded? Sure they have breaks, but is it really spare time of you're stuck in a truck in the middle of nowhere waiting for time to pass so you can drive again?

It also becomes easier to believe if you have to sacrifice something, do something hard.. Like eating less :) If the solution was easy, then we wouldn't be so gullible, we'd have a much harder time believing it works.
