If the first condition is the slowest you can't get faster than that. But if the first is faster it might be the only one executed.

Be sure to read to the end and notice that habits are what you need. Those unconscious self perpetuating mechanisms that actually drives most things.

Maybe there is no difference. You said when "difficult" you go verbal. Well language, be it natural or math, is the means by which to think rationally and highly conscious. On the ohther hand creative thinking is more done in &quo

I've just started reading http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_Mathematics_Comes_From It's about math as a human construction. Very comforting to see ones inner metaphores and mental models of math "legi

You really shouldn't compare salaries through currency exchange rates. When shopping in Denmark for say 100 DKK you will get aproximately the same in Sweden shopping for 100 SEK.

In fact it is an old test reactor from the 1950ies. What they have done, though, which is still very cool, is use thorium instead of uranium in a conventional nuclear reactor.

Not only due to socialistic ideas. Even big private corporations have a tendency to grow organizational pockets and positions of no real value. If you have worked there you will have noticed them.

The if part is meant to illustrate the idea, that if P is not a perfect square, then (m+1)^2 will give the nearest perfect square.

You should factorize as n*10^m where m is even. Then the square root of the 10^m factor will be 10^(m/2), which then gives the order of the full square root.

Maybe too OT, but here is another proof P = n * (n+1) * (n+2) * (n+3) = n*(n+3) * (n+1)*(n+2) = (n*n + 3n) * (n*n + 3n + 2) = m * (m+2) If P has an integer square root, it must be (m+1) Trying (m+1) * (m+1)

This thread needs an argument for the case where the host picks a door at random. The chance for the host getting the car is of course also 1/3. Then the complement 2/3 chance of the host getting a goat splits the car chance evenl

If the host picks randomly, the chances must sum to 2/3, not 1.

The most straightforward explanation I've heard is this: The chance is 1/3 the car is behind the door chosen at first. The chance is 0 for the opened door. As the three chances must sum to 1, the last door has a chance of 2/3
