I was pleasantly surprised by Microcenter in November of last year. I was looking for a laptop and apparently Microcenter has a house brand called Powerspec. It turns out they are a very user-focused brand that a) has no bloatware preinst

This is fantastic and I'm one of those amateur "tribologists" you mention in one of your replies. Have you looked into contracting with the US government, particularly the military? You might think of partnering with a compa

Just want to give a shout out to Rick Doblin, the founder of MAPS, who has been fighting this fight since at least 1990. He, like myself, is an alum of New College, a non-traditional college in Sarasota. He graduated I think the year befor

I feel like this makes it to HN once every few years or so. I know it well from it being the first and main case study in my software testing class as an undergraduate CS major in Washington DC in 1999. It will never not be interesting.

This is a great article. Note it's from January 5th, and it's extremely speculative. But certainly at least worth adding to the overall amount of signals that stock investors are thinking. I think I remember someone saying that

I believe I saw this on reddit last week and I feel it's disingenuous. It's sped up and meant to make it look like the whale is frantically trying to escape while being hemmed in by ships, but a more plausible explanation is that

It doesn't make that big of a difference until later in life. Compare your 30-year-old kid to the 30-year-old kids of the parents who didn't try as hard and your answer will be there.
