In addition to taxi ranks in popular areas, my local area (U.K.) has local taxi companies with their own apps. You can even still call them on the phone (quaint as it is) to make a booking.

Fair challenges. I don’t think that all the inflation we are seeing is fuel or supply chain constraints. I think we are also seeing demand side effects of the record low unemployment (albeit due to record low participation rate), high level

Sometimes there isn’t any good options available. Persistent inflation is usually a long term problem, and their mandate is to (attempt to) maintain inflation within the 2% range. We might just have an unavoidable recession. I’m not diminis

Because most western economies face an age related economic time bomb. The “locals” are all getting older. The immigrants are usually young, productive and bear more children.

Potentially in the short term, if government were to introduce such tax policies as changes to the status quo. These types of short term changes/issues can perhaps be remedied via short term tax credits or similar for those renters imp

I beg to differ. As revolting as their actions were, it is hard to consider 10 year olds as adults and treat them as such in the eyes of the law. The recidivism you raise could actually support my argument rather than strengthen yours. Had

There should be a reasonable age for criminal responsibility. Compare the different approaches of the British [1] who tried 10 year olds as adults and the Norwegians [2] who took a different approach. Which is more civilised? Which is more

As American housing is mostly sprawling and low density, it isn’t terribly well suited to mass transport like rail in most places. Perhaps light rail or even (eventually) self driving cars might work better. Alternatively, change planning r

Some people still believe in the fantasy of trickle down economics and the Laffer curve, so they push for lower corporate and marginal tax rates that help the wealthiest. The vast majority of people do not benefit as the money flows upwards
