I assume you got one of the original M1 MBPs. The more recent models have more display blocks. M1 Pro can drive two external displays, and I think the M1 Max can do three or four. I’m still slightly pissed Apple ever shipped the original M1

In all of those cases I’m pretty sure you can’t in fact be arrested just for the act as described. You need to be in some way negligent or malicious in doing so, and in most countries at least you have to be extremely negligent to get pro

Depends what you consider to be large files, and admittedly its not a free for all upload, but gov.uk probably fulfils most of those requirements.

I know what most of those words mean, but I have no idea what they mean in that order. This feels symptomatic of the general state of Javascript, where I've not written any for a year or so and am now wildly out of date.

The government have backpedaled hard from their pogram against EU law, I suspect because someone finally managed to get across that just expunging a huge swathe of legislation without anyone knowing what exactly the result would be is bad f

It really is amazing how resilient planes are, I'm pretty hooked on this YouTube series in which a guy gets given a plane that's been sitting in the open for 15 years or so on the condition he can make the thing run again. https:

Having worked in the insurance industry, and spent a fair amount of time chatting to the underwriting team about what goes into their models, they do on the whole use this data in a straight forward way - if you drive well, you'll get

I’ve found alerting on queue length to be a path to false alarms, what most people care about is queue latency. How long does a message sit in the queue before being processed? For some jobs the upper bound for that can be measured in days,

A pub may have the ingredients to make a wide range of cocktails, but most of them won't have staff who actually know how to do so well. If you're lucky someone will have had some training in making cocktails and be able to make s

I just don’t buy it. Even a C-level has limits, whatever was being investigated currently just has the possibility of some big fines and maybe losing their job. As soon as they start colluding to destroy evidence that turns into jail time.

Is it even needed on desktop displays? My experience has been that anything under 32” you need to use scaling to make anything readable on a 4K display. I’m current using a 43” 4K display as my main monitor, sitting not very far from to, I

This simply hasn’t been my experience with a 43” OLED TV, which I use as both a TV and my main monitor when working. It’s facing away from the window, which I’m sure helps, but I’ve never had to draw the curtains to see what I’m doing. Mayb

I just can’t understand the US’ rationalisation of the current state of gun regulation being ok. So only 21,000 of the year’s gun deaths were murders… here in the UK where we cracked down on firearms after the first instance of a school sho

I have a bit of a pet hate around the use of words like “insane” to mean “unusual to the general public”. There’s nothing insane about this, they’re applying a tool designed for the job to doing the job. “Insane” would be hiring a team of c

I have no idea how you’d do this at scale, but you’re not wrong. I bought a Quest 1 around when they were released after trying a friend’s headset, I’d been on the fence before that, but afterwards I was totally sold.
