They are serving a different market, and I've seen less demand since Android came out. I know at least a dozen people who have Android phones (that are quite happy with them) off the top of my head, and I can only think of two who own an iP

I'm an Android fan, but marketshare between Android and iPhone doesn't tell the whole story, at least for developers. I haven't seen numbers on it in a while, but iOS is much better for devs in terms of making money. iOS users buy more apps

It's sort of like TreeStyleTabs, but nowhere near as powerful. With TST, you can configure the placement and look of the tab bar (or autohide it), group tabs into trees that you can collapse/expand/reload/close separate trees, and a number

I really wish they hadn't backed down. Yes, it's Apple's store, they can do what they want, but I feel like they get away with ridiculous changes like this because, well, they're Apple.

From what I've heard, not really. He tests a lot (he posts about it on the devlog), but I've heard he doesn't use version control even.

If you're ever worried that a feature will be too complex to implement, take a look at the ridiculous number of things Dwarf Fortress keeps track of and simulates some time. The article briefly touches on it, but like any look at Dwarf Fort

Somewhat. Trees and other plants can be replanted via saplings and bonemeal, cobble can be made with a simple cobblestone generator, and water is extremely easy to make an infinite spring for. The more rare elements are things like glowston

Actually duct tape vs duck tape isn't all that clear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duct_tape#Etymology Duck Tape is trademarked, but it's possible that was the original term for it. It's weird.

Attempts at humor typically get downvoted at Hacker News. HN is more interested in discussion than humor, so it's downvoted as noise.

How is that different at all from the online distribution systems that the PS3, 360, and Wii already have? The 360 has a fantastic low price indie market in Xbox Live Arcade, the PS3 does pretty well, and the Wii is steadily gaining the ent
