I knew DHH when all he had was a pair of rollerskates, so it makes me happy to see where he is at, and I didn't read this as coming from some pampered rich kid. That probably makes some difference in interpreting the article. It's

The Discovery series about food chemistry had a segment about using liquid nitrogen to make ice cream. I think they concluded that it is the perfect way to make ice cream. The show had many other very interesting segments (like how to make

There are lots of things Eclipse does better than IntelliJ (and the other way too of course). It's mostly little things here or there (Quick Fix for example, SVN integration seems a lot better too). I sit around IntelliJ guys so I tend to c

Last month I had an issue fixed in Eclipse - automatically appending semicolon after call to void method. I filed that issue six years ago.

That's all true, but try the 'Communities' function for a given topic you are interested in if you haven't already. I use Google+ for that exclusively, after giving it up due to the same observations you made.

This article is quite opinionated, but one thing I liked: This brings us to another lesson that Bitcoin has taught us. Money is like any other good in society in that it can be produced and managed entirely by the free market. This is the

Why not just a remote in the keychain like we've been doing with cars for ages? I seriously don't get why this is not the norm yet.

With GWT it is possible to pretty much build your UI in HTML and simply inject key components, with event handlers etc., into the DOM structure. You would use an HTMLPanel and add(Widget widget, String id). Few people seem to be aware of th

You should give GWT a go. Compile time is a valid complaint, though it can be mitigated by only producing a single permutation (browser specific output) while in development, rather than the default five-six. Also note that during developme
