I use OSX most of the time. It usually prompts me to install things. That doesn't seem like "automatic updates" though.

Just for the record the iPad2 still updates. Though the hardware can barely handle iOS8. It's almost unusable. It seems crazy to think there would not be an end of support for something that old. Maybe Apple doesn't allow updates

People in all sorts of different positions take performance enhancing drugs. We as a society tend to focus on athletes for some reason. How many of the programmers you work with are taking some kind of stimulant or nootropic? Everyone is lo

Life is a competition. There is definitely competition in music. People battle for spots in orchestras. People battle for commercial dollars, etc.

Are you suggesting that most professional leagues don't allow doping? The NFL is full of drugs they just sweep it under the rug until the public notices. Kind of like Professional Bodybuilding. Everyone knows they are on drugs but we j

There is no level playing field in genetics either. The idea that banning drugs creates a level playing field is also flawed.

Can't users opt out by disabling automatic updates? Microsoft is basically doing what every other modern software company does but taking heat for it.

Were you on a CAMSS team? That seems to be the best area inside of IBM right now as it's a strategic growth area. This includes the Watson PS team I'm on.

No only that. You will see some mega corp acquire some smaller company for their proprietary tech. Then replace that tech with something else, often open source, or just not use the technology they acquired at all. Are they just going for a

I was curious. According to Quora these are the class ranges in India: Affluent/Rich - Rs. 500,000 p.m and above. Usually businessmen & celebrities. Upper class - Rs. 200,000 per month to Rs. 500,000 p.m. Upper middle class- Rs. 50
