"bland" != "pit". I can understand being bored by MTV (everyone likes different things) but your quality of life is not going to be poor. And for people interested in skiing, wine, and outdoor recreation on the weekends,

You'd think that over longer distances, it might be faster than biking, but you'd be wrong. Downtown MTV to Campbell takes about 1hr 15m, which is how long it takes you to bike the same route.

Why is MTV a "pit"? Decent-ish downtown with a Michelin starred restaurant, plenty of parks, good library, relatively bike-able, rapidly densifying and adding housing. Caltrain goes to SF, you can drive easily north to Napa or Tah

Could a VCS simply blacklist symlink files? Plus if you have developers doing crap like this (and their colleagues letting it slide in code reviews) you have problems that can't be solved by monorepo vs polyrepo. You have an engineerin

This really does not work for all languages. Speaking from personal experience, trying to monorepo multiple JS projects managed by NPM, it's more work than that.

Asking the teacher to set and grade extra credit work because a student didn't get the grade they wanted isn't fair to the teacher. I don't think the teacher is the one that needs to "suck it up" here ;-). The stude

It's not a big leap from "pay extra for extra credit assignments to improve grade" to "pay extra to improve grade". I'm not suggesting that the vast majority of teachers would be tempted or give in to bribery.
