They were originally using an older version, but Chef 11 is now supported. I believe it's the default for new stacks, and old ones can be updated from the stack settings page. http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-

I can confirm this. We experimented with Unicorn as a way to get some of the benefits of availability-based routing despite Heroku's random routing. Our medium-sized app (occupying ~230 MB on boot) would quickly exceed Heroku's 512 MB memor

This is also interesting for sites which can't acquire their own certificates (i.e., anything at .cu, .ir, .kp, .sd, and .sy).
