Revenue is a bad predictor of future value for a network effect business (here a literal network). VC is supposed to seek high risk / high reward investments over 5+ year periods - especially ones that have a self-reinforcing moat like

Exactly the reverse. Most IOT sensors suffer because of cost, battery, and engineering complexity for a cell based connection. Helium solves all three - even more important now that 3G is being phased out making thousands of IOT sensors obs

The Starlink satellites orbit closer to the earth than other comms satellites (iridium, oneweb). Closer distance = faster times, in addition to laser links between sats and other spectrum differences. Downside to lower orbit means they won&

I disagree. Controlled substances should have some guidelines and this seems pretty low cost and low overhead on time. I do agree that most jobs are over licensed. From barbers to landscapers, there's generally too much paperwork. But

Write offs isn't the right word here. It's a partial tax offset for purchasing manufacturing equipment. The tax itself is already high, so the partial exemptions on that tax isn't some give away.

Which ones specifically? The only two I know of are: - The low/zero emission car rebate that Toyota and every other manufacturer has used. - The clean energy manufacturing tax write off that applies to over a hundred other companies.

there's a difference between "having" and "owning" something. You may have it on your local file (aka access) but ownership implies a super set of capabilities that they're talking about.
