From the article, the process involves 1mm thick pieces of wood. But it's reasonable to assume that a thicker plywood could then be made out of those 1mm thick pieces and would maintain a lot of the translucency.

The meat thing is an absurd claim that I think is meant to indicate that the tweet is a joke. Not sure how seriously it should be considered.

I think it's pretty dismissive to presume or imply that comments you disagree with here must all be from bots. Edit: To expand, Apple inspires strong opinions in a lot of people. They have a lot of fans for various reasons, and a lot o

I'm not seeing the "16GB RAM + 512GB SSD: 1499" configuration on the Buy page. The $1499 one says it has 8GB RAM, and any ones with more RAM say they have Intel chips, not the M1. If I'm missing it or if there's som

I wonder if that might be a useful next step for FOV in VR... Some additional screen area in the peripheral that's lower res than the main screen area?

I'm not the person you're asking but I've tried it and it goes both ways for me. Sometimes it's still very immersive, and other times the reduced FOV (compared to reality) does take away from the experience.

Can't the same argument just be applied to the phone itself, though? Don't like phones that don't allow third-party app stores? Don't use them. Buy android instead.

I read it the same way initially, thinking a different FB team made the tiktok competitor and the Instagram team didn't know about it and was taken aback.

Gifs (and videos that people call gifs) wouldn’t be what they are today if it weren’t for their ease of copying/saving and pasting/uploading to somewhere else, which you could similarly call an application feature. So this applica

It's not a lie. Those two statements are taken wildly out of context. Wearing a mask while walking down the street does effectively nothing for you. But if your job is to be surrounded by infected for the whole day, a mask helps your c

But $5 is the real price of the Zero. Perhaps you’re thinking of the Zero W, which is $10? Or do you mean the $5 doesn’t include the power? If that’s what you mean, it should be noted that power doesn’t come with Arduinos either, and they b
