I'm a PHP developer specializing in WordPress. Probably the most unsexy and looked down upon platform in these parts. But, we make a profitable and well-loved product with thousands of happy users. Too bad that isn't sexy anymore.

You should definitely check out Byron (Bay Area Skydiving) as well. Between then and Lodi I don't think there's much reason to bother with the the other DZs.

As a tandem instructor I used GoPros every day (had a glove that would stack 2 - one for video, one for pics). I used the GoPro 2 and specifically did not upgrade when new versions came out. The GoPro 2 was fine, it did the job, and I didn&

Couldn't agree more. We make a very complicated product that accomplishes a very complicated task. There are 100% use cases where an app should 'just work' and where documentation isn't necessary. Of course, there are ca

I am a remote worker. Our team averages 15-30hrs/wk each. Some of us never get above 15. I personally average 25-30 when I'm at home, and 15-25 when I travel. I travel for about 6 months out of the year. If I am not in someone els

I can't say I'm surprised to see the mental gymnastics that 'the internet' is willing to engage in to cynically criticize such a massive donation and doe-eyed optimism. To paraphrase some guy on Twitter, Zuckerberg'

It doesn't make sense for every product, but for us it's absolutely necessary. In general I think it's really helpful to have your support reps be 5x more technical than your average user.

Support for WP All Import is one of our biggest selling points. We get a lot of support requests in part because our software is complex and WordPress has a low barrier to entry. We have three part time employees and one more in training al

I would gladly pay $49/mo for a product that increases conversion without making my site unusably annoying.

For years now GitHub Gists will not notify the author if another user leaves a comment. I really have no idea why GitHub won't fix this, but, someone else finally did. GitHub issue: https://github.com/isaacs/github

I think WordPress is great on DigitalOcean. With EasyEngine you can be up and running - cached - and seconds with a handful of CLI commands. I've had great luck with running WP on DO.

Here in Bangkok UberBlack is about 150% the cost of a local taxi. UberX is about 95% the cost of a local. Besides price, you'd never know the difference between an UberBlack and an UberX - both are hands down much better in every measu

Living abroad, I take Uber over taxis for just this reason. It's not that Uber drivers speak English here, it's that I don't care if they do because we don't need to talk about where I'm going.

This is great. But two gripes: 1) No hotkey? 2) No support? The only thing you have is a form for me to suggest an App that is actually just a newsletter sign up. Not promising, especially for paid software.

Great idea for an app, however: it doesn't work -Click 'Next artwork' cycles through 2-3 of the same painting -Selecting every single 'Technique' throws a 'No high resolution artwork found in those filters'
