I don't see ruby mentioned anywhere and the article mentions shellcode. I thought it was informative and interesting and I am well aware of shellcode. Your comment is unnecessarily condescending and may discourage posts like this.

It looks like it doesn't take more than a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Could this be cut with an inexpensive router? If so, the materials and router would probably be like $40 + $80 = $120?

I have found 30 minutes, 6 days a week, to either run or bike for 5 years. I probably miss ~5 days a year on it, where I have to skip a few days in a row. I have two kids under 3 as well. It's not easy. I have to wake up early (5am) ev

Why not track how many times the entrance/exit doors open or close? Or add a laser(?) that cuts across the entrance that counts each time it's line is broken. Directional but also simple to do.

To target a broader market, you might consider dropping the "Vim built in" and explain it as "Create stories efficiently in plain text with our editor that uses familiar key bindings from Vim. Alternatively, use your favorite

As a remote worker, I could see getting something like this for our central office. I need an almost frictionless solution and this sounds pretty close "walk into the room, click the remote once and you’re instantly in the meeting.&quo

Just wait until the newborn gets a little older. I have two kids under 3 and found a renewed sense of purpose as they've gotten past the newborn stage. My priorities have also shifted away from career and startup success to family. Per

Censorship in this context appears to be bypassing blocks on pirating software, movies, etc. The screenshot shows the web page title of "Download music, movies, games, and software." The toolbar buttons are for piracy related site

Searching for a band that's not in your database gives a blank response. I searched for mumford and sons and got nothing back. Once I figured out how to search it worked reasonable well. I like that it starts playing videos and has mus

Missing MSVCR120D.dll. Can you compile in release mode or include that DLL too? Installing the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 didn't help.

Neat, the linked hd.img file contains windows, Simcity, AutoCAD, etc. Has anyone compiled this for Windows? If so, would you kindly post the binary? It'd be fun to play with this old software again.

I disagree completely. I'm over twice your age and started programming when I was 12. My birthday present for my 14th birthday was a $99 retail copy of Microsoft Visual C++ 4.0. Back then I wrote a notepad clone, cab archiver (zip was

Any recommendations on how to inexpensively (free) experiment in making techno music? I downloaded some synth programs on my iPad (HexASound, Synth) to play with. Would something like Algorave, Archaeopteryx, or Overtone be better?

Is it possible to sort my feed by # of likes or # of comments in facebook? I see "sort by top stories", but I don't think that does it. It seems like more control over sorting and filtering would help.

Great work! It might be helpful to show images of common keyboards to show where the print screen button is. For example, on my keyboard it's labeled PrtScn. I've had to explain hundreds of times where the print screen key is. ht

Good work. The install process was very smooth. I like that it doesn't require admin. Also a neat architecture. Looks like it's a .NET app running an in process web server.
