One thing I found is that the reliability issues are usually quite fleeting. I have the feeling that a lot of the people who are experiencing issues are going to the Apple store straight away to get it fixed. I've had a few issues: 5 k

In about 3 to 5 years, it will be possible to create ultra high-Q mechanical micro-resonators with extremely low thermal noise coupling. This will allow a huge number of new quantum optomechanical setups and experiments

The thing is that non-technical people aren't using those features on windows/linux desktops even if it is possible to do them, whereas they are using them for macOS and iOS It's the barrier to entry and knowledge. I agree fo

Honestly I feel like often in the UK we have no sense of community compared to the americans in basically anything. I think often unless you live in London, UK cities can feel very functional at times with people just living. Clubs and acti

Slightly related: One thing I've learnt in Physics is that there are still a huge number of practical and fundamental problems to be solved. You might expect everything easy will already be done by now but that's just not true. He

I don't think they're too bad, the three.js examples are good (if a little sloppy in coding style) I think the main thing that helps is some kind of previous knowledge about OpenGL

I’m working on reducing the quantum noise of gravitational wave detectors as well as work in quantum metrology. Measurements on the quantum scale using light are still relatively unexplored and there is a lot of work to do. I just sent my f

The thing is that in many other cities I've been to, the dodgy homeless areas are confined to areas of the cities that are less on the tourist line, but in SF the homeless problem is right in the centre of the city. My coworker and I w

Well it's only because of the issue with the built-in editor, since lua isn't really that concise in terms of character count imo. Also the official tutorial is a published book which I find a little distasteful although understan

In my opinion anything js-related is the furthest you can get from "power on to BASIC". I can say that for me it feels less enjoyable to have to rely on an external website (like jsfiddle), also requiring that you be able to write

I love pico 8, but I think that Lua is probably the worst language for coding in an editor that can fit so few characters on the screen, and it feels like using an external editor defeats the point. Granted, I haven't used the software
