Well the basic concepts are the same. I don't think many of the major concepts such as EventEmitters and Streams have changed. I'm pretty sure most tutorials you will find should still work but I may be wrong

I caught the end of the brief period where people were more interested in programming itself, whereas now programming discord, even in hobby circles, seems to revolve around entrepreneurship and capitalism.

The main problem with programming is that it is seemingly useless as a hobby. I have been programming for many years and am quite experienced, yet I never managed to keep it up consistently because programming project ideas were either way

That is true, in any specialised field (apart from, for some reason, programming, which seems particularly great to search for) it does very badly. For example in Physics it can be impossible to find the answer to very reasonable questions.

Yeah and you still get "told" to turn them off. Kind of a mixed signal of "put your electronics on airplane mode" and "switch off your electronics" where you're not sure which you're supposed to do. R

No one gets anything straight from the lecture though. I don't know a single person who managed to follow a physics lecture course all the way through without getting lost at some point. I think the most important part of learning is r

>built WAY too much stuff that only really matters if you are operating at scale. Why do people do this?? Please don't build for mega huge scales before you've gone to market...it's a huge waste of time and money. I guess

Yeah there's a huge amount of politics in research IN GENERAL, but not so much in physics. Like there are no big questions covered up because they're inconvenient or anything.

Firstly, they function well enough to predict that gravitational waves exist, the ones which we measured being produced by an extreme gravitational event. Secondly, many other areas of physics have worked this out. The prime example of Quan

Yeah, calculus seems really abstract and pointless until you realise that it's 90% of physics. At school they shy away from calculus so much that you just do a version of physics where they've simplified away the calculus, which i

When you say you should use a computer, you mean for arithmetic and calculations right? Also calculators are hardly archaic. If I want to calculate something quickly I'll always go for my Casio FX-83GT, since I can type it much faster

I think it's still really helpful to learn C and as a reference, but the code has a very terse and difficult to read style that I wouldn't recommend actually coding in, for example this is introduced in the first chapter, before a

Moral of the story is that numbers with dimensions totally arbitrary. In theoretical physics you often want to find a small parameter to do a Taylor expansion and make some mathematical expression simpler. A small parameter is a number much
