There is no "criminal defense insurance". Believe me I looked all over. There are just some surprise expenses out there you have to be prepared for.

Funny you ask. I looked into this very thing when I became involved in this situation. There are pre-paid legal services like LegalShield, but most will only cover 20-25% of the cost. This represents a possible startup opportunity IMO.

If you are guilty a plea deal is a good deal. If you are completely innocent, and have some money to defend yourself, you have a moral obligation to fight the charges. (Note: I'm no expert on moral authority, it's just how I feel.

I want to extend my comment. The big takeaway from all of this is that to beat the system, you need to be prepared to defend yourself at all costs, to the very end. The system depends on everyone taking plea deals. It's a well-oiled ma

I have first-hand experience in this area. Someone close to me was accused of a crime she didn't commit. The police officer was hell bent on arresting her on the worst possible charge. At her initial hearing, the public defenders were

I bought Mark Dawson's SPF course, which focuses on running targeted Facebook and Amazon ads. I also ran ads on Goodreads that were mildly effective. The most effective approach though for me so far is Freebooksy/Bargain Booksy. G

Just throwing this out that you should definitely include the park name in the search. I would have never thought of that. I just checked recreation.gov API and it has all that info there. Moreover, if a park has multiple campsites you coul

Awesome tool. But I wish your site monitored Zion NP. One of the busiest parks in the US. I can never score a campsite, and the first-come ones fill up by 7am.

You need a home office for your own sanity, this much is true. I found this out the first year when the kids were out of school. Many others I've talked to also found satisfaction in co-working centers.

Hopefully, more employers are waking up to this reality. I'd bet there are thousands of devs out there willing to take a pay cut for the opportunity to work at home full time, some who have confided this to me personally. It actually m

A toxic person is someone who becomes an impediment to you getting your work done, either directly by sabotaging your efforts or indirectly by mobilizing others on your team against you.

Not disagreeing, but what you are really doing is spending your time instead of money. It's a predatory industry for sure, but there are trade-offs. Sometimes they find deductions you didn't know you had.

The 5-star rating system is archaic. It's just natural human psychology to rate things they really like or really hate, thus a ton of 5 or 1 star ratings. I'd like to see it replaced with the tri-state, 2-star system: 2 - loved i

My takeaway is that web components are purposefully low-level (as specs out of the W3 usually are). It doesn't have a databinding spec because it's not supposed to. That's why libraries like Polymer emerged, to make the featu
