If Apple stopped at the over-saturated/rounded-corners, it would have been a decent iteration on something established (and very much not broken). I realise the transparent icons are optional - but it now looks like a budget Android th

CSS-in-JS is possibly the worst idea to come out of the last 10 years of frontend. Saying that as someone who has written a lot of CSS-in-JS code.

How are people still on FB or Insta? I've been absent for a few years now, but whenever I read about FB it seems worse than ever.

These sorts of (sorry to say, but) dumb articles (+ books) I don't expect to see on HN.

As far as coding goes Claude seems to be the most competent right now, I like it. GPT5 is abysmal - I'm not sure if they're bugs, or what, but the new release takes a good few steps back. Gemini still a hit and miss - and Grok see

I'm starting to really detest the AI-everywhere thing. You're starting to feel it absolutely everywhere - good products turning shit just to capitalize on the hype.

You can actually keep it offline (permanently) and their sync is more immediate. iCloud gave me issues when downloading many (large files) and you couldn't really prioritise certain files. That, and a few other smaller things - like a

I was of course generalizing, but the point I'm making is that you need to get some (very) long term fitness goals. This usually drives you to find like minded people and action long term nutritional changes. You can get to a 5km withi

Don't try to be healthy, try to be strong or try to do an ultra - or even crossfit. Community & nutrition usually follow IMO.

I've been working with TW more lately and I must admit - there is a convenience factor there that is really nice - and it abstracts a lot of the finicky design system thinking. But, if you're building any long-term product, invest

AI is killing advertising and social media, not the web. And I'm sure these LLM products are going to start introducing some form of advertising soon anyways.

This is one of the reasons I do like Apple products. I've owned many PC's/Android phones/etc. - none of them come even close the longevity of Apple hardware (the exceptions are real, for sure).

I'm not running so much anymore (foot injury) - but for the last 15 years I've spent an hour+ on the road or in the gym 5 - 6 (sometimes 7) days a week. Also through sickness, injury, etc. It's changed the way I view being al

The sweet spot is of course having function actually follow form. Very often this is where the whole thing breaks - good design, poor implementation.

Leveraging bespoke design systems is hopefully next. Design systems (and accompanying component libraries) are hard to build, but they have a huge payoff in terms of ROI in dev resources. Right now the models are too open/generalized -
