People hate DRM because it gives the content producers too much power, and then they treat consumers like muppets: http://neosting.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/pirated_vs_le... The Internet has shifted a huge amount of that power back

The WWDC purchase process was _much_ less painful than the Google I/O process. I didn't get tickets for either, but at least the Apple process was done within minutes. Google took me nearly an hour of watching a progress spinner and retry

Shutting it down it the dumbest move ever. This story is all over the news and everyone wants to download it. Many developers pay a great deal to acquire more users, and Yahoo is just throwing this chance away.

Much of it comes back as invesments in US businesses, real estate, and stock markets by these foreign subsidiaries. I don't think they're actually able to bring it back into the parent companies in the US, but with good accountants and lawy

This is commentary, not reporting: "Opnionator - Exclusive online commentary from The Times". It's little more than a guy on a soap box or one of the talking heads on TV. Unlike the article, the study itself does appear to be legitimate h

We've had business relationships with Yahoo in the past and everyone we dealt with there had a complete lack of accountability. No one seemed to care when we found problems, and it would take months for simple things to be fixed on their s

First I've seen this, but that donation jumped out at me immediately. How could a male circumcision program possibly use all of $18 billion?! 18 million makes much more sense.

Few surprises for me about this whole deal: 1) Glee couldn't find a way to add any creative touches to the arrangement and actually make it their own. (They even included the duck!) 2) Glee doesn't acknowledge where they get their musical a

It's too bad the donor money comes with so many strings attached. I wonder if the universities could get away with renting out some of the space in some of these buildings. That could at least cover some of the operating costs.

I was reading some of the other comments here and wondering if anyone else thought the multimedia content upstaged the writing. This is the better than any kind of storytelling I've ever seen. Videos that auto play as you get to them. 3-D

It's pretty well known that the warrants issued in New Zealand were invalid, but I don't think it's widely known how weak the US warrents were. Here's an example of how far the government stretched the truth in order to get the warrant. A
