The logic is that if your house can only comfortable accommodate 4 people then it makes sense to say no to the 100 people who also wants to move in. Resources are not infinite. The same goes with culture. The more people you add to a cultur

I have started looking into it for the same reasons. So far it feels like programming in F# but with nice tasty refinement types added. So fairly straightforward.

It's 2022 and Microsoft is doing yet another UI framework. I wonder how many months it will be supported before it is dropped and a completely different UI framework is promoted instead? But hey don't worry! Rewrite all your impor

Why oh why does C# still not have sum types? It is by far the most useful feature still missing from C# and one of the key reasons why I prefer F# over C#.

That was my experience as well working in the US (Washington D.C.) I think it is a problem you will find anywhere.

I predict that the future development landscape won't be much different from today. In the same way that the development landscape today isn't much different to how it was 60 years ago. The only difference will be faster hardware,

Running is actually bad for you. Health is not the same as Fitness. The more you run, the more you risk long term damage. I know a lot of people reading this will disagree. In response I say: read "Body by Science".

I think there is a spelling mistake in the title. I believe it is spelled "Metaflop" not "Metaverse" ;)

99.999% of C++ developers either don't care about Rust or has never heard of it. There are 5 million+ C++ developers out there. And the number is going up .

It is a lot easier to get the spec right than getting the implementation right. > How seL4 or CompCert protect me against against hardware issues like ECC errors, or the Pentium FDIV ? That's a straw man argument. Nobody claims that

If you don't know how to write large scale maintainable monoliths then you don't know how to write large scale maintainable micro services. Micro services are inherently more complex than monoliths.

You are right. Here is procedural: doX(data, args) Here is OO: data.doX(args) The only difference is that you can stop doX(data, args) from modifying parts of data. However you can do the exact same thing in non-OO languages like C or Haske

I would quit if I was forced to pair program. Pair programming is loved by incompetent software developers because they can hide in the shadow of more competent developers. That's my experience anyway. YMMV of course.
