Some interesting stuff in the article, but it doesn't substantiate its headline conclusion. Not anywhere close, IMO. E.g., I'm sure Oracle doesn't want to lose $1B on a datacenter, but that's a bruise, not a catastrophic

You found a puff piece from 2010 to extoll Trump? (It appears to be a promotional piece for a "CNBC Titans" episode featuring Trump.) I try to assume good intent, which includes not writing off the odd things people post as bot-ge

If people can't find a sustainable business model around that thing you want, it's just not going to be widely available. It's hard to say for sure if Netflix could have/should have kept going in the direction they were

That's just a for-instance. The general point is that additional cash is tied up in shoes which cannot do something else. Who bears the burden of the loss of that additional cash changes over time (Nike to Footlocker to consumers) but

Just a side note, but what happened to "hypocrisy"? It used to mean having behavior that contradicts your stated beliefs. Now it seems to mean an apparent contradiction between behavior and belief if you ignore real distinctions.

(I'll speak about .net since that's what I know.) MS dropped compatibility, so there really is no migration path off of .net framework, short of a full port. The resources -- time and money -- for this simply don't exist in t

I don’t see how this “clears” Waltz. For one thing, as far as I know, the iphone doesn’t attach phone numbers to contacts automatically, it just asks. The article claims the iphone did it, but I think Waltz must have. Also, this why you don

That's not really a useful way to think of it. Javascript could not have been released perfect for all current and future uses. Thus it either needed to change or fall out of use. It changed. The linting is simply part of a migration
