I don't understand why a Python programmer would move from PyCharm to VS Code. PyCharm is pretty perfect as far as I can tell. I've tried to move to VS Code a few times to keep up with the cool kids, but I always seem to run into

I just got a fraudulent email from someone impersonating my bank about small changes to the terms of service, but all of the links appear legitimate. No phone numbers either. I guess this is some sort of long-con to get me to trust the emai

I've heard that houses in Paris have been impossible to buy for decades now, maybe US cities are becoming old and "grand" in the same sense.

Another good point. But you need additional technology to profit from that knowledge, which could explain why that came slowly.

I don't get it. Lisp has been around for like 60 years. If these macros were an objectively better way to write code, why have they not taken over by now?

Justified or not, I'm more afraid of all the horror stories that say you can't unsubscribe than the $4 a month.

I think we need a bigger appreciation of noise pollution in general. People fly private planes and helicopters over while we are trying to enjoy nature, or trucks go beep beep beep when we are trying to think, or unnecessarily loud vehicles

I don't quite follow. The link to the blog post was just for background information. Let's agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Funny. I filed a patent for this same thing in 2015 and it was rejected for not being novel. https://patents.google.com/patent/US20160332079A1/en

I find it depressing that non-emergency helicopters are legal. The amount of noise they create to transport a few people ends up being a net negative on quality of life.
