Ugh, I love the concept of electric but we saw what happened with cars. You have to make these look as good if not better than the existing motorcycles for this to take off. These look awful aesthetically. I own a gsxr 600 and I would defin

Just wanted to say that I love the naming of the OS. Brings back memories to the classic Dune games I played when I was younger.

Contrast this to Elon Musk, who is very direct and open in responding to criticism. To each his own?

Hacker News has a pretty strong history of being apolitical, and for good reasons. I don't see how stronger moderation of comments by the community is worse than encouraging political discussions. FWIW I'm strongly against the NSA

As an early HN member who has seen comments decline since the early days, I like this change. This comment you've written falls in line as one I would not endorse. Would you say that Amazon is censoring their products because not all r

You're probably being facetious, but yeah it could all be relative and we don't really know. Wonder if there's any reason they haven't tried this experiment on humans.

I can think of very smart people who could be classified as overweight of obese, such as Gabe Newell, Linus Torvalds, or Steve Wozniak - so that makes me a bit suspicious. On this topic though, I do notice a significant drop in cognitive ab

I worked on several iterations in the dating space for about a year, and this type of stuff was pretty interesting to me. Wrote a bit more about it here: https://medium.com/unfinished-thoughts/2cac1e6cc7b4

Just as a thought experiment: how would the US gov actually go about making it illegal to use Bitcoin, or "ban" it? You obviously can't shut down the protocol itself. Maybe you go after the exchanges and treat them as if they

I actually second this. I worked a bunch of odd jobs starting at 15 years old (you were supposed to be 16, so I had to get consent from the principal to flip burgers). As I was taking the garbage out while working at a grocery store, it jus

Likewise, to echo the sentiment from PG, you're one of the smartest people I've worked with and I think you'll do great at YC. Congrats! Edit: so my prediction a few months ago that you'd be joining Sequoia wasn't t

Cool idea. The Ruby code takes a long time to evaluate - even though I passed the first two challenges without any issues, this would frustrate me if I were a beginner. Why not use a Ruby REPL? Looks like you're evaluating the code ser

Was just watching the old prototype day recordings from the s09 batch. Impressively focused on the same problem since day 1: "We're like Authorize.net, but we're easier and faster." Lots of progress - congrats!

I've had this going for a year or two now. It's hard to come up with ideas when you want them, and they seem to come to you quickly when you don't need them or once you've started paying attention to problems. By no mean

The VC connects wealthy investors to nerds. There are few alternatives. You can self-fund by consulting and by setting aside money for your venture. That doesn't work. Can you elaborate on this part? Is this a pattern you noticed in
