I'll need to adjust this. We talked about it again and Noah insisted on paying me more. My cut will be $3 per copy on that $7 sale (42% gross) before PayPal fees (I am not sure what that will net to). Effectively, my cut will be closer to $

no, but i'm going to set that up. thank you. i also realized linode is nothing like the way heroku works--that resize costed me $140. definitely not a cost-effective way to deal with traffic. i'll see if i can get it pro-rated with them sin

I kind of see the original point as it relates to coding, but anecdotally StartupsOpenSourced.com has made $10k+ in revenue in the past week (not all of it is owned by me, but that's what people have paid so far) I think it fits into more m

I didn't see this before, but this is pretty cool. If you're interested in this kind of stuff, Noah gave an in-depth interview and talked about some of his other strategies in the Startups Open Sourced book I just posted on HN 2 days ago. N

I'd guess that their work on Wufoo was taking up all of their time. They solved the payment challenge, except it was a front-end solution for customers, not developers. Might have been a larger market to go after. I don't know how much Char

I pulled this from Startups Open Sourced. Here's the context: Q: Did you ever do any other big changes or pivots? A: Payment forms is a big feature that we have at Wufoo and that’s something we even didn’t think about when we launched the s

Thank you. I've received several e-mails about this, I'm working on an ePub version and should have it by tomorrow or Tuesday. Send me an e-mail jmtame at gmail dot com. Edit: just saw your other comment, I responded in that thread.

Yeah it was more of a pun with an allusion/shoutout to the software/tech world, but I see that some of the HN readers don't dig it. Thanks for checking it out.

The 'open sourced' connotation was mostly aimed at the process of doing a startup, opening up all the complexities of that from the founders perspective and allowing others to see it and possible reuse those techniques in their own startup.
