Interesting they didn't include Netflix. Morgan Stanley talks about the FANG stocks, meaning FB, Apple, Netflix, and Google, and I usually take issue with that for not including Amazon.

Not literally investments in microprocessors, but all of those things above depend on microprocessors. Regarding the paper losses... sure. But Perez's point was more that a huge bubble would crash, which was the dot com, and then socie

That's a great point. I described the next revolution as possibly one of automation, but that might not be enough. Maybe automation and robotics is better... hmm. This particular thing from Johns Hopkins is just incredible and gives us

This is the Perez book I mentioned: http://www.amazon.com/Technological-Revolutions-Financial-Ca... If you follow Marc Andreeson, Chris Dixon, Fred Wilson, etc, you'll see they are all very fond of her work too.

Would love if anyone could help me understand what value is left at TNR. It seems a lot of people left and that sales were around 2000 issues a month. Not sure how to think about this.

GM's current mktcap is about $53B. A $500m investment represents putting almost 1% of their company into Lyft. Tesla's mktcap is about half of GM's, so this investment represents 2% of Tesla. Uber's last valuation put th

If this was done slowly, it could be an extremely effective strategy. Not too different from what Berkshire did with See's Candies. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/07/13/warren-buff..
