Interesting statistics. I’m an American, and out of everyone I’ve personally ever known to have gone to jail, one was for rape, another for methamphetamine production, drunk driving, financial crimes. They were all white, and many of them w

I’d interned at a military contractor, where I was writing tests for a project that was supposed to be delivered in 18 months. The project was already 3 years late, and expected to be another 18 months. Asking the senior engineer on my team

I had heard about a technique where tiny particles are spread over the media, and then optically imaged. This method was used to recover the most damaged media.

So, much higher estate taxes, and lower taxes on those on the cusp of becoming rich? Sounds good to me.

Right, you need Lebanon NJ residents to decide they’d prefer doubling their property value to some crumbling old buildings. Disney was able to have his way in Orlando. It can be done.

Check out Lebanon NJ. Still massive tracks of farmland and woods. 50 miles from midtown, currently with property for sale at $50k/acre. 5 mile radius is approximately 50k acres. At $50k/acre = $2.5B. With construction costs of $1B

Why doesn’t some industrious individual purchase an entire town roughly 50miles from midtown Manhattan, owning say a 5 mile radius, and install a high speed rail (150MPH straight into Grand Central - no stops) 20min from Grand Central to th

I’d rather we pay the $5M in ransom, and then $5T to track the hackers down and eliminate them. Certainly someone died due to the pipeline shutdown. Eliminating the hackers would be fully justified.

21 of 122 failed? That’s a concerning statistic. I’d expect closer to 99% success, not 82%. How many fatalities when the parachute failed to deploy? 100%? If so, then you have almost a 1/5 chance of dying when you engage the parachute?

$1.3B / 10M households in Texas = $130 per household. By having this arrangement, did Texans get power for $0.07/kWh instead of the $0.08/kWh in more “normal” regulated environments? If there was that much savings, then a $13
