I would ask: if DV is an acceptable weaker alternative to EV then why do we need certificates at all? Why doesn't anyone allow HTTPS without a certificate- it would allow you to establish you are talking to the same server you thought

I think some news sources never use the term "laid off." I imagine the thinking is what happened was "fired without cause" and that is independent of what the company would like it to be called.

But your original feeling is right- most complete models are in fact time reversible. The static analysis toolkit is a simplified physics for engineering analysis.

Unfortunately it is merely a math problem. Until the peg comes in contact there is no friction. After it is in contact there is friction, and if the geometry is just wrong enough "virtual forces" to oppose any force. Real matte

It gives you something more to check. Your con-man adding n^3 terms to force equations saying this is the basis of their reaction-less drive is easy to dismiss, as even their whack-job theory implies conservation of momentum (and no reacti

The "no free lunch theorem" is really not useful. It has been proven, but only for the useless statement that an algorithm that does better on some case does worse on some other case (that you may not care about). Originally it w

My pick (I know the article just said "science" and didn't leave the question open): Noether's Theorem which implies symmetries and conservation laws come in matched pairs in physics. From this you can derive conservati

In static analysis of forces you can in fact have an irreversible couch/sofa event (as in Dirk Gently's ). It is usually is described as jamming or wedging of the peg in hole problem (see here http://www.cs.cmu.edu

No, even packs of 3 trucks with 1 driver (on the interstates or other long distance routes) would be substantial savings (and a huge impact on employment).

Emacs is my primary editor, however Emacs dumper has always been a dumpster fire. Basically they coded up so much ill-concieved and inefficient Emacs Lisp that the editor would never start up in an acceptable time. Instead of engineering a

I think Huffington Post is both invested in the outcome (wants one candidate to win) and feels they have to explain why their forecast differs from one as popular as 538's. All the same I found the article interesting.

In signal processing you often have to pass the data through some sort of low-pass filter before attempting your analysis. I would be surprised if that isn't one of the methods being tried to protect deep neural nets from some of thes
