replacement rate is steady-state, not exponential growth. when you have a country with 80 million homes, and 50 years later you only need 30 million of them, you're basically inviting decay to set in.

Not for consumer level devices. There’s an inherent tradeoff between false positives and true recognition rate. If you make the wrong choice, it means the device doesn’t respond when you say the wake word. There’s nothing that infuriates us
