Most (all?) legitimate colleges, public & private, are non-profit. For profit schools are things like DeVry college and Corinthian Colleges. These are pretty widely considered scammy.

I'm not sure if it neccesarily that the first iPhone was special in an of itself, but that the shift to mobile was special, and was largely enabled by the iPhone. Subsequent models aren't tied to a once-in-a-generation shift in te

Very interesting. WeChat has been doing official business accounts for a couple of years - I'm interested to see if WhatsApp takes these in a similar direction. Official WeChat accounts have become the primary way that small businesses

At the same time though, 3 of the 5 largest companies in the US have CEOs with a background in software development/computer science. 5 years ago, 0 of 10 did. There's definitely a trend toward developers having more power.

Speaking from my experience in the Northeast US, most cities are still pretty flat. Washington, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston could all be very cycle-able with the right infrastructure in place. A bit cold in the winter, but nothing un

You're right that animal-based foods are much more calorie-dense than plant-based foods. But an animal contains roughly 1/10 of the calories of all the plants that collectively went into feeding it. The animal's only energy s
