From a developer perspective, the Google Play Services are so damn convenient, and they work well. When it comes to push notifications in particular, I don't know of an alternative which works quite as well as Firebase (if there is, pl

Cool article, one thing: > The designer had sent me some Adobe Illustrator files, and I couldn't open it on the MacBook. Can't you just change the file extension to pdf to open an Adobe Illustrator file?

I heard about a subreddit a while ago, where every post/comment was a random string. It was speculated at the time that something similar was going on.

Very interested to know what this means in practice, particularly for iOS. AFAIK, there's no permissions which allow you to read SMS messages, take screenshots (unless jailbroken), access photos in the background, access the camera in

I have a question, if you remotely wipe your iPhone is it usable at that point, or bricked? If usable, couldn't a thief just steal your iPhone and wait for you to wipe it?

I legitimately don't know my iCloud password, it's in (and generated by) my password manager, so if my phone asks me for it, I need to go to my PC and open Keepass. I'm a bit fucked if I get mugged!

Doesn't that violate the Apple store's terms of use in a completely different way (ie adds no functionality outside of what the user can do in the browser?)

I'm 30, and was never really bored as a kid, thanks to my Sega Mega Drive, followed by my N64, followed by my Playstation 2 and the internet, etc. I think you need to go back a lot further to find that generation.
