I'd love to know just how different/bare bones AOSP (Android Open Source Project) is to regular Android. As an experiment, I'd love to compile it, put it on a spare phone and use it as my daily driver for a week.

I'm not trying to say that anything is/isn't ok, I'm directly replying to: > Set up your own website and host the content. Nobody is removing that ability. In practice, things might not be that simple.

Hosting video isn't cheap, especially when the traffic picks up. While in theory you aren't losing that ability, in practice most people can't afford to.

The Windows Subsystem for Linux fixes a lot of these problems, you can even point VS Code at Ubuntu now on Windows and avoid CMD entirely.

Apparently MyFitnessPal had their data breached, and my email address/password was in it. Checking my emails, I can't see anything from them about this. Loads of the usual marketing crap, but nothing about a breach. Not cool!

If you are using XLSX files (Excel 2007 and later) you can use an Excel diff driver with Git for not terrible version control - http://programmaticallyspeaking.com/git-diffing-excel-files....

It's not even that, it's like I mentally have trouble kick-starting my day without going through that routine of having a shower, brushing my teeth, leaving the flat. When WFH, some days I am no further along at 3pm than I was at

I have learned the hard way that I am not good at remote work. I recognize that I'm in the minority here, but I actually need to get up, have a shower, leave my flat and go into an office with people for my mental health. I have zero

I remember years ago using Peerblock, is that still a thing? When browsers starting adblockers, it became less useful/neccessary.

One of the big downsides of using iOS over Android is the lack of an adblocker. Overall I still prefer it (iOS), but definitely a pet peeve of mine. Edit: nevermind, I'm an idiot!

True, you can also do it with more mature frameworks such as Rails/MVC Core/Django etc. I don’t have experience with Angular Universal, I do with Nuxt (Vue SSR) and it was great, but frustrating to work with as things got more com

For your second use-case ( adding some interactivity to a mostly static page ), Vue works really well. For a full on SPA, Angular is lovely to work with.
