The actual Android 8.0 website linked in the article ( https://www.android.com/versions/oreo-8-0/ ) showcases the features much better than the blog post. It’s actually a really nicely done page, even on mobile. EDI

I’d have to agree. “Understanding the math behind” is what drew me to the article and it was exactly as promised. There are many articles about this hack, but many just write about it and it’s history but don’t actually derive the constant.

As for (ii): I’m not exactly high-rep with 1.9K rep, but that is pretty accurate. The rep-mining that went on in the beginning and the resulting atrocious quality turned me off completely from SO Documentation. I don’t answer much, but if

In democratic countries, at least you have that possibility. Elsewhere it might not be possible at all. Nationwide censorship and surveillance are probably pretty effective technical “solutions” for preventing change.

Texting also used to be something you could do without looking on the old T9 phones, and the law still forbade it. Touchscreen phones are a relatively new invention.

The Google site is sort of misleading, it’ll show a green checkmark even if you don’t have IPv6 at all. The other site is more informative.

I work with self-hosted Gitlab daily and I’ve never thought the UI was bad or slow. In fact, I think it works pretty well. To the other commenters: Do you have any examples? Also, I’m excited about auto deployment. The less tools one needs

The connection issues seem to be company related. I’ve used it in companies where it always worked, and others where it would error out with a 50/50 chance with no discernable cause. But Skype for Business (ahem, Lync) also has some fu

I agree. When I say bland I don't literally mean bland as in non-spicy/tastes-like-nothing, but rather a bland experience. In the sense of uninteresting, dull, unexciting. I'd say that often happens exactly because of overpow

Also e.g. the ACM copyright agreement explicitly allows you to host your own papers on your own website, even though you've assigned copyright to ACM. I don't think this applies to places like academia.edu or Researchgate, but I

The trouble is that if you actually traveled to some of these places and really liked the food, most of the "adapted" stuff just tastes bland. Some adjustments due to availability of ingredients I can live with, but most of the ti

Kinesis Advantage 2 LF with US layout. Best there is, after a ~2 week adjustment. Now they even offer it with blank keycaps, very much looking forward to those. At home I also have a CODE TKL, also a very nice keyboard.

While I agree in general that PRs are better than forks, I don't think what you're saying is totally fair. Your choice of licensing explicitely allows forks (and almost anything else) to happen. There have been many discussions on
