Unless you’re an Angular developer I wouldn’t bother even looking at Nest. It carries over a ton of the same paradigms for better or worse. The biggest problem I have with it is the use of decorators. Microsoft jumped the gun adding suppo

It really depends on the CSS rule you are using. The majority of the older/simpler properties are traditionally tied to the CPU, but things like transform, filters, or any 3D effect will push you over into the GPU.

The list of shitty things they do is too long for here, but their new HQ was suppose to be 2 buildings. They decided against the other build during covid and work from home. Now there is just an empty lot downtown which no one can build on

Don't forget Dart. They tried to push that as a replacement to JavaScript for a while. Just like what Microsoft tried with VBScript years ago. Then Flutter came out of nowhere and reintroduced everyone to Dart again.

I decided to do a little bit of research. Up until 1933 the War Department maintained that cemetery after which responsibility was transferred to the National Park Service. It looks like NPS was the ones that decided to cut the headstones

I'm in the same boat. Part of the problem for me is that it seems we're solving the same problems year after year, but with a slightly different software stack each time. Or we've built a Rube Goldberg machine of SaaS tools

They swap out parts so much when one supplier can't deliver I wonder if they could even have a reasonable amount of replacement parts at all their service centers. It's part of the reason why you see big auto makers reuse parts b

I wouldn’t say its bonkers at all. That’s a good blog post not trying to lay a ton of blame on any one person. But having worked with Macromedia/Adobe and Mozilla engineers at the time who already successfully implemented a majority

We almost had it with JavaScript 2/ECMAScript 4, but Microsoft and Google killed it. One because they didn’t want to update their JS engine and the other had just released v8. Adobe implemented it as ActionScript 3 and Firefox had mo

Apple shot themselves in the foot with pricing. The 13 mini is $699. While the old iPhone 11 which is still sold is $499. The mini is better in every way, but that’s a big price difference. Even the new SE is roughly the same size just w

You're out of date as of 2020. Reckless driving is 20 mph over the speed limit or over 85 mph now. It's a class 1 misdemeanor. Most of Virginia has 65 mph as the stated speed limit which usually drops to 55 mph around cities. T
