SOLID (or any set of design principles) are important in the sense that you should think twice when you don't obey them. So it is not necessary that they are strictly well defined: they are stopping points for thinking not for marking

I agree that sometimes files are not the best representation for code but languages gives them semantics. For instance, namespacing/packaging is based on files (which make dependencies based on files too).
