Very cool. I remember when I was very very young in my small city (~100,000 people). In the summer time after say 6:00PM, people would sit on their front stairs and also take short walks around the area, socializing with everyone they met

One thing that I find interesting and has me wondering, it is this quote from the article I linked below: >During the legislative window for AB 1043, none of the major open-source institutions submitted formal comment or testimony. http

If they are sold, which I think it would be a good thing, I hope a competent organization. But these days, it will probably be another Private Equity Company that will force it to go all in on AI, eventually ruining SUSE :(

I do not understand this question. Is there a reason you cannot install Linux ? Linux can be installed from a USB and should work on any system running windows 10. If Linux is too heavy for your system, there is always NetBSD. I have NetB

Thanks,I will have to revisit the settings. These are from the move to vim 7.0. 7.0 without these settings was a nightmare and if one was missing it would not work the way I wanted it to.

Very nice, will look into it myself. Now if only they can set the defaults back to what vim 6.x used I will be happy. The new defaults drive me crazy and I had to update ~/.vimrc to disable them. This is what I had to add, but once in

Just checked on https://oilprice.com/ . it is above 100 USD. There was an article here (IIRC) about Climate Change and 1.5C may be reached by 2030. With high Oil Prices, maybe it will force some countries to take climate ch

RSS is all well and good, but a serious question. What will prevent AI content from showing up in your RSS Feed ? If RSS becomes popular again, I fully believe AI will start appearing there too.

It is too bad pkgsrc from NetBSD did not become a thing, a few Linux distros allow for its use and I think Minux also uses it. Using pkgin(1) you get to know what happens before anything is done. Creating packages is hard, but as an end u

If that is the case, if people are not jailed for contempt of court, it shows what the tariffs were really for. Enriching the politicians and the 1%, which is all the US Gov. is for these days.

Yes, I wish sites that use grey text should be investigated as part of the US disability act. People with even minor sight issues can have a hard time with sites designed that way. When I run across a site like that I usually try it in lyn
