What language do you put that list in? Would you still want to show it to every visitor when you know most of them speak a particular language? I use to do some work in this area. The first question is difficult and the second is no. We had

To be fair, that’s true of many languages and programming domains. The web, in particular, is one where you have to keep pace or end up out of the field. Java and C# are a couple other popular languages where the same is also true.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this. Every enterprise OSS company operates like that. People paying for support and funding the project get to make requests. Anyone else can submit a PR or be happy with the free software. It’s a pret

It’s the digital equivalent of a dirty cop planting a gun after shooting a suspect. Of course it happens. Three letter agencies probably do things like this all the time. Half of their legitimate work is probably illegal to begin with.

It's been a while since I have done web dev, but web devs back then were certainly not scared of any language. Web devs are like the ultimate polyglots. Or at least they were. I was regularly bouncing around between a half dozen langua

Services like ControlD and NextDNS have built in blocklists for IoT telemetry and bullshit. I'm sure it's easy to do it with PiHole as well. I use ControlD and it's blocking 38% of all DNS requests in my household. 8% of that

Besides the fact that Xiaomi devices are completely untrustworthy, they are usually great pieces of hardware. I bought a Xiaomi vacuum years ago. Everything was in Chinese and I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to set it up. B
