TFA says this cluster was part of "developor relations" and runs OAL and Java. Perhaps the arcade games are also running on Java and Oracle is simply trying to "show off" a variety of uses of Java or something.

We pretty much already have this exact thing with options 66 (hostname) and 67 (filename) for clients booting via TFTP. Most DoH servers, AIUI, use the same well-known path, so we'd simply need two more DHCP options: one for the DoH se

The first thing that comes to mind is that DHCP option 6 specifices (one or more) IP addresses, whereas with DoH you probably want to specify (ideally, multiple) hostnames, for various reasons.

A few suggestions: 1. look into what /usr/local/{,s}bin/ and ${HOME}/.local/bin/ are for (and how to add them to your ${PATH}, if necessary) 2. look into why you shouldn't recommend things like "

A DHCP option, e.g., "DoH server", could be added to the DHCP spec to tell clients which DoH servers to use (just like happens now with "regular DNS").

This is basically the DoH versus DoT argument. I'd prefer DNS-over-TLS myself but apparently DNS-over-HTTPS has more backing and is "winning". One big advantage that is argued is that DoH is much harder to block.

Mozilla stated previously that if the bypassing was "abused" (such as by ISPs), they'd effectively just ignore it (paraphrasing) and continue to use DoH anyways.

AES-128 is also 16 bytes (128 bits), which is still (and likely will be for many, many years) completely secure, for all intents and purposes. (SHA1 is 20 bytes, BTW.)

Right now, it's quite easily to turn off Firefox's use of DNS-over-HTTPS, using about:config (or, like me, blocking the "canary domain" via my internal DNS servers). On a larger scale, however, this won't work. We c
